From Littles to Leaders | Celebrating Our 2026 Graduating Littles
For many of the Littles at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northern Nevada, this graduation season represents something truly special. It is a moment filled with reflection, pride, gratitude, and excitement for what comes next.
Over the years, these Littles have grown in ways that extend far beyond the classroom. They entered the program as young people still discovering who they are and what they are capable of becoming. Along the way, they built meaningful relationships with mentors who chose to consistently show up for them through life’s successes, challenges, and everything in between.
“Saying how my life would be different without my big is challenging, considering my relationship with her has lasted so long; it is difficult to recall life before having met her. What I can say is that I had many experiences with her that I wouldn’t have had…Recently our time together has been spent working on college and scholarship applications and now I feel so much closer to accomplishing my dreams.”
Nevaeh, Little Sister

Together, they created memories that will last a lifetime. They shared conversations over meals, celebrated birthdays and milestones, attended school events, explored new hobbies, visited college campuses, and simply spent time learning from one another. Some memories were big and exciting, while others came from ordinary moments that slowly built trust and connection over time. Those experiences became the foundation of relationships that helped shape who these Littles are today.
“Big Brothers Big Sisters provided me with more than just opportunities. It connected me with a mentor that changed the trajectory of my life. My big, Tom, taught me invaluable lessons that I would not have gained anywhere else.”
Maverick, Little Brother
As they moved through middle school and high school, they learned valuable lessons about perseverance, responsibility, confidence, and self-worth. They navigated uncertainty and experienced the challenges that come with growing up. Through it all, they had someone in their corner encouraging them and reminding them that they are capable of achieving their goals.
2026 graduating Littles
In 2026, we had 14 2026 graduating Littles. 14 Littles who, through the years, have had the support from their Bigs. 14 Littles who found joy and encouragement in the big and small moments. 14 Littles who will now go off into the next chapter of their lives. Of these Littles, some will attend UNR’s Social Work program, some will head off to TMCC’s Criminal Justice program, and some will continue their Entrepreneurial goals in our community. But all 14 are graduating with a steady anchor of support in their corner.
“[Big Brothers Big Sisters] was a big part of my life where I found community and happiness, but I will always be very grateful for every memory and lesson that came with it.”
Anthony, Little Borther

Remarkable Growth

These not-so-little Littles now speak confidently about college, careers, military service, trade programs, and other opportunities ahead. They have developed leadership skills, strengthened their communication, expanded their perspectives, and discovered new passions. More importantly, they have learned they do not have to navigate life’s challenges alone.
As these 2026 graduating Littles walk across the stage and receive their diplomas, they carry years of memories and leave with a deeper understanding of themselves and a stronger belief in their potential.
“I was their first kid before they had their own.”

We celebrated not only their graduation, but the incredible young adults they have become. Their stories are still being written, and we cannot wait to see where their next chapter takes them.
Congratulations to our 2026 graduating Littles! We are proud of everything you have accomplished, and we are excited for everything that lies ahead.
