We at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northern Nevada (BBBSNN) respect your concerns about privacy and value the trust you have placed in us. This Privacy Notice describes the types of personal information we collect, how we may use that information, and with whom we may share it. Our Privacy Notice also describes the measures we take to protect the security of the information. In addition, we describe the choices you can make about how we use the information you provide to us. We tell you how you can update your contact information, remove your name from our mailing list, or answer any questions you may have about our privacy practices.
WHAT TYPES OF INFORMATION DOES BBBSNN COLLECT AND USE?
We receive personal information as described to you at the point of collection, pursuant to your consent, and/or when you voluntarily provide us with personal information, including:
(1) individual information (such as your e-mail address and phone number);
(2) company information (such as your company’s address); and
(3) other identifying information that you voluntarily choose to provide to us, including without limitation unique identifiers such as passwords, and personal information in messages you send to us.
We may also collect additional information, which may be personal information, as otherwise described to you at the point of collection or pursuant to your consent.
We collect and use the information to communicate with you about our products, services, promotions, programs and events, and to customize our communications in those areas. We also collect information to improve your website experience, enroll Big Brothers, Big Sisters and youth; enable donations to BBBSNN, enable contact with BBBSNN alumni, and enable you to stay informed on legislative issues important to BBBSNN. Below are the various ways we obtain information about you, types of information we obtain, and how we use the information.

When you ask us to send you our newsletter, you provide us with your email address so we can fulfill your request.

In order to access and use certain areas or features of the website, you consent to our collection and use of certain information about your use of the website through the use of tracking technologies or by other passive means, including when you receive, open, engage, forward, and/or click through the Website. ENROLLMENT:
When you enroll online to become a Big or Little, you give us your name, email address and phone number. If you are under 13 years old, we ask you to have your parent or guardian enroll you, or you may call your local agency directly.
PARTICIPATE IN CONTESTS, RAFFLES AND SWEEPSTAKES:
When you sign up to participate in one of our contests, raffles or sweepstakes, you may provide us with information such as your name, credit card information or email address. We may use the information to enter you in the contest or sweepstakes and contact you if you win. Also, unless you previously asked us not to send you our newsletter, we will add your email address to our newsletter list. If you do not want to receive information about BBBSNN, you may choose not to participate in our contests and sweepstakes.
DONATIONS:
In addition to information to participate in contests, raffles and sweepstakes, you also give us contact information and credit card or checking information so we can process your donation. We use this information for that purpose and to customize our communication with you.
OTHER WAYS WE MAY USE INFORMATION TO PROVIDE SERVICES:
You may provide us with survey information to help us learn more about your preferences, or address information to provide services. We maintain information you provide to us in our database to provide you with the information, goods or services you have requested or information about our programs.
DOES BBBSNN SHARE THE INFORMATION IT OBTAINS ABOUT ME WITH THIRD PARTIES?
BBBSNN generally does not share personal information about you with any third parties for their own marketing purposes. In certain circumstances, and in order to provide our services, we may share certain information about you as described in this section. We do share this information with service providers we have retained to perform services on our behalf, but these service providers are not authorized by us to use or disclose the information except as necessary to perform services on our behalf or to comply with legal requirements. We also may disclose information about you to other members of the BBBS family (such as our National Organization, which may have their own privacy policies). We also may need to disclose your personal information or any other information we collect about you if we determine in good faith that such disclosure is needed to: (1) comply with or fulfill our obligations under applicable law; (2) protect the rights, property or safety of you or another party; (3) enforce this Privacy Notice or other agreements with you; or (4) respond to claims that any posting or other content violates third-party rights
HOW DOES BBBSNN PROTECT PERSONAL INFORMATION?
The security of personal information is a high priority for us. We maintain reasonable online safeguards to protect against unauthorized disclosure, use, alteration and destruction of the personal information in our possession. Our volunteer and donor databases are reasonably secure, third-party software sites. We recommend that you do not use unsecure channels to communicate sensitive or confidential information to us. Please be aware, despite our best efforts, no security measures are perfect or impenetrable, and we cannot guarantee “perfect security.” Any information you send us through any means is transmitted at your own risk. HOW LONG DOES BBBSNN RETAIN YOUR INFORMATION?
BBBSNN retains personal information about you for as long as necessary to provide you the information and services needed. In some cases, we retain personal information for longer, if doing so is necessary to comply with our legal obligations, or as otherwise permitted by applicable law. Afterwards, we retain some information in a de-identified and/or aggregated form but not in a way that would identify you personally.
HOW DOES BBBSNN DEAL WITH INFORMATION PROVIDED ON BEHALF OF CHILDREN?
BBBSNN’s website is not intended for use by children. BBBSNN does not knowingly collect any information from children. If you are under 18, do not attempt to register for the BBBSNN program or services or send us any personal information; please ask your parent or guardian to help you. By accessing, using and/or submitting information to BBBSNN, you represent that you are not younger than 18 and that you have authority to do so. If you are a parent or legal guardian of a minor child, you may, in compliance with this Privacy Notice, provide BBBSNN the child’s information on behalf of such minor child. Information you provide to BBBSNN on behalf of a minor child will be treated as personal information as provided herein. If you provide information to BBBSNN on behalf of another person, regardless of age, you represent and warrant that you have authority to do so.
